These hives are brilliant I love them my bees thrive in them, they are light but strong and very robust, should outlast me I reckon, I have about about 25 or so of them, can't really fault them to be honest, first rate hives, eventually I will have converted all my colonies to paradise hives

Well what more can I?say, they are fantastic hives, and In my opinion the best poly hive you can buy, I have one apiary completely converted over to them and all the other Apiaries are partly changed over to them, but will all eventually be changed to them?

Langstroth Complete Poly hive with 1 jumbo & 2 medium bodies a complete high-density polystyrene hive.
Our Polystyrene (Poly) hives offer exceptional thermal performance and durability whilst maintaining an ergonomic design. This means a higher honey production compared to wooden hives but with minimal weight. These types of polystyrene hives do not use crown boards, instead, we have an in-built feeding system for fondant so that you don't need an eke.
A complete high-density polystyrene (EPS) Langstroth hive from leading manufacturer Paradise Honey consisting of:-
Langstroth roof
Langstroth floor and varroa mesh
1 x Jumbo body
2 x Medium bodies
Queen excluder
Varroa tray
Feed cover plate
Hive entrance reducer
Premium hive strap
Hive screws
This hive has a 295MM deep brood body which takes 10 Langstroth jumbo frames. Langstroth jumbo frames are the same width and depth as Dadant and thus give a large brood area plus plenty of space for stores for over-wintering. Dadant hives were favoured by brother adam of Buckfast abbey but the full dadant hive is very heavy, this jumbo Langstroth in high-density polystyrene has fewer frames than a dadant and is, therefore, lighter but still offers plenty of space for the queen.
This is probably the most technically advanced hive currently available in the UK. The material of construction, high-density polystyrene, now dominates the market in many parts of Europe and there are tens of thousands of hives like this in use and the British beekeeper can be reassured this is a high-quality product that works. The hive is designed for a working life of at least 30 years and will take a lot of hard use, such as migratory beekeeping. Designed and supplied by Paradise Honey Ltd of Finland the hive represents the culmination of years of experience and research into the development of the perfect bee hive.
You can find all of Langstroth's complete hives HERE. All components are available to buy separately. Please see our FAQ page for details of instructions and painting HERE.
Please note:- This hive does not include a feeder, bees, frames or foundation (unless chosen by option) nails, wire, castellation's, dummy boards, or crown boards/inner covers.

I can't believe it's taken so long for someone to review these hives. I've been using them since I started keeping bees in 2011. I was impressed with the demonstration videos on this site and received very good customer service, right from the initial emails I sent as a novice. Using all medium bodies really does afford great flexibility in managing bee colonies. If you supplement your set up with a spare base and roof, you can run two hives with 3 bodies each, plus an emergency hive with just two bodies. I have started using plastic frames too, which have presented some challenges, but have now found a satisfactory way of harvesting and processing the honey.
