You can just put the hive roof directly over the hive body but it will be easier to remove using one of these clear plastic inner covers.

Like a traditional glass quilt, they also have the benefit of allowing you to view into the hive without disturbing the bees. Very useful for checking if another super is required (if top supering) or if the bees have found the syrup in the feeder. The cover comes with a blue protective film which should be peeled off before use.

Please be aware that these inner covers have been designed to fit our British national hives and we cannot guarantee that they will fit any other type of hive.
