4030 Complete Hive with 3 Full Depth Hive Bodies

A complete high density polystyrene Langstroth hive (less frames) consisting of:

Roof
3 Full depth hive bodies
Queen excluder
Floor and plastic varroa mesh
Slide out varroa tray (illustrated)
Hive strap
Inner cover
Entrance reducer

We now include an inner plastic cover and entrance reducer with all our standard hives. Although not essential (a sheet of polythene can be used under the roof and the entrance reduced with a strip of sponge) or bit of wood) they make beekeeping with these hives a lot easier. The entrance reducer also doubles as an entrance closer which is very useful if the hive needs to be moved.

Running your bees on full depth frames throughout is a common practice amongst bee farmers as it reduces the number of frames to be handled and is signifactly more economical - more bees and honey for the same outlay on hive and frames compared to a conventional hive using shallow supers.
